The cereals, pulses and oilseeds sector, which carries out 48 percent of Türkiye’s food products exports alone, left 2023 behind at an export level of 12.4 billion dollars and set an export target of 14 billion dollars for 2024.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Aegean Exporters’ Association (EIB) , Muhammet Öztürk, Head of the Aegean Grains, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association, said that they have created an intensive marketing calendar to reach an export figure of 1.2 billion dollars from the Aegean Region for 2024.
Exports doubled in Türkiye and tripled in the Aegean Region…
Öztürk, who informed that the cereals, pulses and oilseeds sector had an export figure of 6.7 billion dollars in Türkiye 10 years ago, ramped up its exports approximately 2 times in 2023 and reached 12.4 billion dollars, said, “The 2-fold increase in 10 years is a serious indicator of the success of our sector, considering the political and economic conditions experienced during this period. Our Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association, on the other hand, boosted its exports from 360 million dollars to 1 billion 68 million dollars in 10 years and achieved a 3-fold increase.”
