Between November 1, 2021 and October 31, 2022, Türkiye achieved a foreign exchange income of 201 million 687 thousand dollars with a spike of 50 percent in return for the export of 58 thousand 313 tonnes of olive oil.
Olive oil exports soared by 32 percent on amount and 50 percent on value basis.
Türkiye’s table olive exports for the 2021/22 season, which was completed as of September 30, 2022, managed to exceed 100 thousand tonnes for the first time.
Compared to the previous season, Turkish table olive exports increased from 88 thousand tonnes to 110 thousand tonnes with a rise of 24 percent and reached the level of 173 million dollars from 150 million dollars with a rise of 15 percent on the basis of foreign currency.
In the 2021/22 season, Türkiye’s olive oil, table olive and pomace oil exports grew by 36 percent in total to 399 million dollars…
Türkiye breaks record in olive oil exports!
Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters’ Association (EZZİB) Chairperson Davut Er said that Türkiye has obtained a foreign exchange amount of 201.6 million dollars in return for 58 thousand 313 tonnes of olive oil exports at the end of the 2021/22 season.
“Our pomace exports reached 24 million dollars with an increase of 178 percent. At the end of the 2021/22 season, we reached a new record in our olive oil exports. Our average export price of olive oil increased by 12 percent in the 2021/22 season to 3 thousand 458 dollars,” Er said.
“The countries to which we exported the most olive oil in this period were USA with 75 million dollars with an increase of 65 percent, Spain with 24 million dollars with an increase of 17 percent, Japan with an increase of 49 percent with 17 million dollars, Saudi Arabia with an increase of 150 percent with 10 million dollars and the United Arab Emirates with an increase of 56 percent with 5 million dollars,” Er added…
