Aegean region leader in olive and olive oil exports…
Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters’ Association (EZZİB), which is the representative of all olive and olive oil exporters in Turkey, increased its exports from 159.5 million dollars in 2020 to 187.4 million dollars in 2021 with a 17 percent improvement. EZZİB members accounted for 61 percent of the Turkish olive industry’s exports of 309 million dollars in 2021.
Sharing the information that olive oil exports are 27 thousand 748 tonnes reaching to 95 million dollars as foreign exchange, Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters’ Association Chairperson Davut Er said, “We have increased the average export price of olive oil per tonne, which was 2 thousand 578 dollars in 2020, to 3 thousand 400 dollars in 2021 with a rise of 32 percent.”
“Our Turkish olive oil was exported with more added value in 2021. Our table olive exports soared by 16 percent from 74 million dollars to 86 million dollars. We also obtained 7 million dollars foreign currency from pomace exports. We aim to boost our exports in 2022 exponentially,” Davut Er added…
