The agricultural machinery industry continues its development in production and sales this year after 2021 and 2022. In the first 9 months of this year, approximately 69 thousand tractors were produced and there was an increase of 25 per cent compared to the same period last year. Approximately 95 thousand tractors are expected to come off the production lines until the end of the year.
Gökhan Bayramoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Agricultural Equipment and Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (TARMAKBİR), stated that the tractor sector in Türkiye continued its development in production and sales this year and stated that approximately 69 thousand tractors were produced in the first 9 months of the year and there was a 25 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
According to the data of TURKSTAT (Turkish Statistical Institute), as of November 2022, there were 2 million 155 thousand 455 tractors registered in traffic and the average age of the tractor park was 25.5 years.

Pointing out that 5 companies producing tractors were included in the ISO (Istanbul Chamber of Industry) 500 list this year, Bayramoğlu added that the demand for tractors was positively affected by the fact that farmers, who have investment plans especially in the coming months, brought their purchases forward due to the expectation of high inflation / low real investment instruments and the attractive rates in subsidised agricultural loan interest rates.
