COUNTRIES THAT STAND OUT IN FOREIGN TRADE OF AGRI-FOOD…

According to Federation of Food and Drink Industry Associations of Turkey (TGDF) Digital Data Panel, prepared by Agrimetre on the basis the data announced by Turkey Statistical Institute (TÜİK), in the first 4 months of 2020, the prominent products were hazelnut kernel, flour and pasta respectively, while these products accounted for approximately 15 percent of total exports. The most imported products were wheat, soybeans and corn respectively. These products accounted for about 20 percent of total imports.

While foreign trade data of the first 4 months of 2020 are analyzed by countries, the top three countries to export are Iraq with 959 million dollars, Germany with 530 million dollars and USA with 359 million dollars. Exports to these 3 countries accounted for 27 percent of total exports.

The most exported products by country were flour for Iraq, chicken meat, canned tomatoes, hazelnuts for Germany, packaged nuts and raisins, apple juice, gummy jelly candies and tobacco for the USA.

While the import data by country is analyzed, the most imported countries are Russia with 1.096 million dollars, Brazil with 330 million dollars and Ukraine with 321 million dollars. Imports from these countries accounted for 1 in 3 of total imports.

The prominent products in imports from Russia were wheat and sunflower; soybean, tobacco, coffee from Brazil, soybean, wheat and corn products came to the fore in imports from Ukraine.
