The 9-day Eid al-Adha holiday brought about a decline in export figures. Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) exports in June decreased by 5.3 percent from 1 billion 694 million dollars to 1 billion 604 million dollars.
While 3 of the 12 exporters’ associations under the umbrella of EIB exceeded their performance in June 2022, 9 exporters’ associations fell behind last year’s export figures.
In June, Aegean industrial products exporters showed an export performance of 945 million dollars, while the agricultural sectors were 570 million dollars and the mining sector has signed an export of 89 million dollars.
In June, Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association ranked second with a foreign exchange return of 138 million dollars.
Aegean exporters, who entered the year 2023 with the aim of preserving the stock, achieved an export of 9 billion 207 million dollars in the first half of 2023, while they fell behind the export performance of 9 billion 251 million dollars in the January-June period of 2022 by 44 million dollars.
Breaking export records every month in 2023, Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters’ Association ramped up its exports, which was 17.3 million dollars in June 2022, to 66.3 million dollars in June 2023 with an increase of 283 percent.
Aegean Tobacco Exporters’ Association boosted its exports from 75 million dollars to 76 million dollars and was among the three sectors that succeeded in boosting its exports.
Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association (EYMSİB) suffered a loss of 18 percent in June and achieved an export of 93 million dollars. EYMSİB’s 6-month exports soared by 8 percent from 550 million dollars to 595 million dollars. With an increase of 6 percent, it moved from 1 billion 222 million dollars to 1 billion 291 million dollars.
Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, the leader of Türkiye in its sector, brought in 66.8 million dollars of foreign currency to the country in June, while the 6-month exports of the dried fruit sector rose from 392 million dollars to 417 million dollars with a rise of 6.5 percent.
In June; while the Aegean Furniture Paper and Forest Products Exporters’ Association demonstrated an export performance of 63.4 million dollars, the Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association brought in 63 million dollars of foreign currency to the country.
