Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association Chairperson Bedri Girit stated that they aim to export 50 million dollars annually from Türkiye, which is the second in world honey production.
Bedri Girit also said that they introduced the Turkish beekeeping industry to thousands of industry members from 138 countries around the world at the 47th Apimondia International Beekeeping Congress held in Istanbul on 24-28 August.
TURKIYE RANKS SECOND IN THE WORLD’S HONEY PRODUCTION…
Noting that the congress, which was organized with the joint work of Aegean, Istanbul and Mediterranean Exporters’ Associations, is of great importance in terms of promotion of Turkish honey, Girit said, “Türkiye, where 92 percent of the world’s pine honey production is realized, ranks second in the world in total honey production.”
HONEY EXPORT IN THE LAST 1 YEAR SOARED 65 PERCENT…
Expressing that Türkiye’s honey exports have reached 41.8 million dollars with an increase of 65 percent in the last 1 year, Girit added, “The annual export can easily reach 50 million dollars while USA, Germany and Spain stand out as the markets to which honey is exported the most.”
