In the 6-month period of this year, 317 million dollars of income was obtained from fish raised in aquaculture facilities operating in Türkiye’s Southwestern province of Muğla and exported to 69 countries.
In Muğla region, where a significant portion of Türkiye’s marine aquaculture production is realised, the amount of production and export volume is increasing every year.
Speaking at the August assembly meeting of Istanbul and Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean, Black Sea Regions (IMEAK) Chambers of Shipping, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Barış Saylak gave information about hunting, aquaculture and sea fish fry production in earthen ponds.
Saylak stated that 48 thousand 725 tonnes of aquaculture products were exported in Muğla in the first 6 months of 2024 and that 317 million dollars of income was obtained from this production.
