Hilmi Sürek, Chairperson of Tariş Olive and Olive Oil Union, said that the price of 35 TL they announced was a figure that would satisfy the producers.
Hilmi Sürek stated that they set a price of 35 TL for extra virgin oils in the 2021-2022 period purchase campaign of the Tariş Olive and Olive Oil Union and said, “Our Union has once again demonstrated that it stands by its producer stakeholders in this purchase campaign.”
“We ran a successful buying campaign last year. We have completed the 2020-2021 campaign period, shoulder to shoulder with our producer partners, in a satisfactory manner in terms of both purchases and sales. This year, we started purchasing by determining the price of 35 TL for extra virgin olive oil as a result of careful evaluations, taking into account the region, country and world production and price formations,” Sürek added.
Explaining that Tariş Olive and Olive Oil Union has a strong structure in the region with all its cooperatives and 28 thousand stakeholders, Sürek concluded, “The most important strength is the quality of the olive oil, which is the product of the partners. I wish the purchase price announced by our Union to be beneficial to all stakeholders, our industry and our country.”
