Turkish olives, exported to 65 countries with a value of 35 million dollars, set their sights on the Middle East market

The Marmara Olive Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union (Marmarabirlik) achieved its highest export figure in history in 2025, selling 35 million dollars worth of olives to 65 countries. Processing the olives produced by 30,000 members across its 8 cooperatives into table olives, olive oil and olive paste, Marmarabirlik brings them to tables both domestically and internationally. Its new target is the Middle East market.
‘WE PLAN TO GROW WHERE WE ARE PRESENT AND TO ESTABLISH OURSELVES WHERE WE ARE NOT’
Ali Yıldız, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Marmarabirlik, said that table black olives appeal to the ethnic market and therefore the main export market is European countries with large Turkish immigrant populations. “Marmarabirlik has been exporting for many, many years. We are currently working on a formula for this export based on regional consumption habits,” Yıldız said.
‘OUR 2026 EXPORT TARGET IS 50 MILLION DOLLARS’
Stating that they want to bring Turkish olives, which are found on tables in Europe, America and Russia, to the whole world, Yıldız added, “Our figures reached record levels this year. With 35 million dollars, it was the highest figure in Marmarabirlik’s history. Our target is 50 million dollars. Our long-term target is 70 million dollars. We reiterate this every time.”
