FOOD TRADE BETWEEN TÜRKİYE AND JAPAN GAINS STRENGTH UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF AHBİB…
VEYSEL MEMİŞ: WE REACHED 172.1 MILLION DOLLARS IN NOVEMBER AND OPENED NEW DOORS IN JAPAN

The Mediterranean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters Association (AHBİB), which recorded exports worth 172.1 million dollars in November, has given new momentum to the region’s foreign trade performance with its successes in strengthening market diversity and its high-profile commercial contacts in Japan.
“We created strong collaboration opportunities through logistics reviews and intensive B2B meetings”
Veysel Memiş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AHBİB, stated that they organised a trade delegation event to Japan between 24-29 November within the scope of the Ministry of Distant Countries Strategy and that the events, attended by 33 representatives from 26 exporting companies, opened the door to new collaborations in Türkiye-Japan trade.

“Japan’s import volume of animal feed, chocolate and sweet biscuits is growing”
Drawing attention to Japan’s strong market structure with high volume and diversity in agricultural and food products, he said: “The data shows that Japan offers significant opportunities for Turkish companies thanks to its low customs duties on many products and its tendency to increase supplier country diversity. The rapidly growing import volume in Japan in categories such as animal feed, shelled nut preserves, fruit and vegetable juices, chocolate and sweet biscuits, combined with Türkiye’s global export capacity, points to a vast potential that can be tapped into.”
“Our aim is to indelibly inscribe the trust, taste and quality associated with ‘Turkish Food’ in the Japanese market,” he added…
