“We aim to maintain the export momentum in the second half of the year”
Hasan Kuzuoğlu, Chairman of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association (DKİB) Seafood Sector Committee, told an AA reporter that the export performance achieved in the first half of the year was pleasing for the sector.
Kuzuoğlu stated that interest in Turkish salmon in international markets is increasing every year and that they aim to maintain the export momentum in the second half of the year.
Emphasizing that they are focusing on new markets without compromising production planning and quality standards, Kuzuoğlu said, “While increasing our share in existing markets, we are continuing our contacts with buyers in new markets, primarily in the Far East, Gulf countries and Europe. By enhancing market diversification, we aim to make our sector stronger, more competitive and more sustainable.”
Underlining that Russia continues to be the largest market for Turkish salmon exports, Kuzuoğlu noted, “We are continuing our promotional and commercial activities in alternative markets. We see significant growth potential, especially in Asia and Europe.”
Pointing out that Turkish salmon has become one of the leading products in seafood exports in recent years, he added, “The sector makes a significant contribution to production, employment and exports, particularly in the Black Sea region.”
