Hayrettin Uçak elected as Chairman of the Turkish Fruit and Vegetable Products Sector Council!

Hayrettin Uçak, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, has been elected Chairman of the Turkish Fruit and Vegetable Products Sector Council for the 2026–30 term. The Council is expected to generate 2.5 billion dollars in foreign exchange for Türkiye by 2025.

Having dedicated eight years to the fresh fruit and vegetable and processed fruit and vegetable sectors as Chair of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association between 2018 and 2026, Hayrettin Uçak will continue his efforts to promote the development of exports in his new role as Chairman of the Turkish Fruit and Vegetable Products Sector Council.

Following the general assembly meetings of the exporters’ associations held in April 2026, the Fruit and Vegetable Products Sector Council held its first meeting at the Aegean Exporters’ Associations.

At the meeting, Melisa Tokgöz Mutlu, Vice-Chair of the Istanbul Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association and Ömer Faruk Kuşçulu, Chair of the Uludağ Fruit and Vegetable Products Exporters’ Association, were elected as Vice-Chairs of the Sector Council.

Three sectors will act in unison…

Emphasising that Türkiye produces 58–60 million tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetables annually, which is converted into added value in the form of fresh fruit and vegetables, processed fruit and vegetable products and dried fruit, Hayrettin Uçak, Chairman of the Turkish Fruit and Vegetable Products Sector Council, stated that the priority areas of work in the coming period would be to improve quality and food safety in fruit and vegetable production, stated that the three sectors will act in unison in this endeavour…
