Türkiye’s fishery and animal products sector, which meets the world’s three-meal protein requirement, ramped up its exports by 5 percent in 2025, from 3.862 billion to 4.046 billion dollars.

Sinan Kızıltan, Chairman of the Sector Board of the Turkish Fishery and Animal Products Exporters’ Associations, stated that they achieved exports worth 1 billion 184 million dollars in 2015, increased the sector’s exports by 123 percent over the last 10 years to reach 4 billion 46 million dollars and succeeded in becoming one of the star sectors in terms of exports.

Pointing out that fisheries accounted for the largest share of exports in Türkiye’s seafood and animal products sector, with 2 billion 243 million dollars, he explained, “Fisheries accounted for 55 percent of the sector’s total exports. Despite quotas and export restrictions, the poultry and egg sector managed to maintain its 2024 export value with a performance of 1.12 billion dollars. Poultry meat exports climbed from 671 million to 723 million dollars, an 8 percent increase, while egg exports suffered a 14 percent loss due to the fund introduced for exports in 2025, falling from 463 million to 397 million dollars.”
“The milk and dairy products sector hiked its exports by 13 percent, from 363 million to 409 million dollars. Milk powder exports were the driving force, hiking by 60 percent from 47.4 million to 78 million dollars. Türkiye, the world’s second largest honey producer, achieved honey exports worth 33.5 million dollars in 2025,” he added…
