Malatya Turgut Özal University’s Apricot and Apricot Products Development Application and Research Centre has published the Dried Apricot Foreign Trade Report for August 2025.

The report includes information on the dried apricot sector, a driving force in Malatya’s economy, for August 2025 and the first eight months of the year. The report, which also analyzes statistics covering the January-August period, indicates that exports in August decreased by 61 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, falling to 2,800 tonnes. Although the unit export price surged by approximately 2.50 dollars compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 7.43 dollars, it was noted that due to the decrease in export volume, revenue from approximately 37 million dollars in the same month of the previous year has decreased to 21 million dollars this year.
The report also noted that dried apricot exports in the first eight months of the year decreased by 6,000 tonnes compared to the same period of the previous year, falling to 36,000 tonnes. It was reported that export revenues decreased by 20 percent compared to the same period in the previous year, with the unit export price falling by nearly 0.35 dollars to an average of 5.45 dollars for the same period. The report also noted that revenues in the first eight months of the previous year, which totalled 243 million dollars, fell to 196 million dollars.
