Rector of Konya Food and Agriculture University Dr. Cumhur Çökmüş said that they are pursuing to give the most qualified education in the world regarding agrifood field.
Dr. Çökmüş stating that the university was founded in line with the needs of the country, “Our university, focused entirely on certain issues, the country’s needs and contribute to the country’s economy, we will create added value” he said.
Dr. Çökmüş also noted that the university was established in 2013, got the first students in 2016 and continued as follows:
“We currently have a 3-year student group. We aim to train a graduating group that will enable us to become self-sufficient in the fields that our country needs, especially in food and agriculture. We can follow the world literature, think internationally, but also protect our national identity. We have a target that for a group of graduates who know what they are doing and who know the sector.”

Pointing out that the country has a high potential to create economic value in many areas, Dr. Çökmüş concluded:
“The pioneer group in food and agriculture needs to be trained. There is a view in USA that ‘everyone does not have to be educated at the same level.’ They make it look like a train. The train has many wagons, there are locomotives in front. You don’t have to equip them all with high technology. The important thing is that the ‘A team’ is the best navy of the locomotive we call. This is the mission of this university.”
