Veysel Memiş: We aim to be a strategic trade partner in new markets

Press release…

Veysel Memiş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association (AHBİB), announced that they exported 172.8 million dollars in September. Emphasising that the record-level increases they achieved in distant markets in the 9th month of the year were reflected in the export reports, Veysel Memiş said, “We boosted our exports in 42 of the 144 countries we exported to in September.”

“We should take an active role in Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa markets”

Stating that they have been working hard to bring the quality and taste of Turkish food products to the kitchens of the world, Memiş also reminded that their members had the opportunity to get to know this market closely with the trade delegation they organised for the Italian market as well as the bulgur promotion they held in Russia last month.

Highlighting that the Turkish cereals, pulses, oilseeds and products sector aims to ramp up its effectiveness in distant markets with high potential such as Asia, Africa and Latin America in addition to its existing markets, Memiş added, “We aim to become a strategic trade partner by meeting the need for food security in these regions. Taking an active role in fast-growing markets such as Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa is of critical importance for the future of our industry.”
