“If the quota in the EU is increased to 100 thousand tonnes, we can easily meet it”
Stating that Türkiye, which is a food corridor, is one of the world’s leading exporters despite anti-dumping and quotas on pasta, Veysel Memiş, Chair of Mediterranean Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters Association, said, “We have well-known brands in the pasta sector, where manufacturers carry the production quality in the pasta sector to a global scale with a competitive price policy. We believe that these brands, whose recognition we have increased with their activities abroad, have great potential especially for Europe.”
“We foresee that if the annual pasta quota, which is currently 20 thousand tonnes in the region, is increased to 100 thousand tonnes in three years, our sector can easily meet this amount,” Memiş added…
