TURKISH ORGANIC SECTOR TO BE IN DIGITAL ENVIRONMENT…

Hybrid fair period in the organic industry…

Aegean Exporters’ Association who inked the Turkey’s first virtual exhibition with Shoedex2020 now prepares to launch digital conversion of the organic sector from Aegean region.

The organic sector started negotiations of the hybrid fair which will host both physical and online visitors together this year and next year. At the same time, the cooperation of İZFAŞ (İzmir Fair Company of Metropolitan Municipality) with the world’s largest organic fair Biofach is also on the agenda.

Steps to be taken regarding the Ecology Fairs planned to be held in 2020 and 2021 were discussed with the companies attended in the Biofach-Nuremberg Fair held on 12-15 February 2020, the representatives of the Organic Products Board, organic product exporters, İZFAŞ and Ecological Agriculture Organization Association (ETO).

Stating that Turkey is a dominant country in food, Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association Chairman Birol Celep said, “Aegean Exporters’ Association (EIB) is one of the most important representatives of ecological production in Turkey that performs 75 percent of the organic product exports.”

“We must move our organic sector from R&D to innovation. The added value can be achieved through innovation. Innovation is a team work. For this, we focused on hybrid fair works. We are planning a digital fair in the organic sector in October. We want to include not only food but also textiles. It is a strategic product because its raw material is cotton,” Celep added.

“The textile sector is a locomotive sector for both the region and the other industries. It is useful to work together in organic. There will be a large mass movement with the integration of the sectors. The Chamber of Commerce, The Commodity Exchange, EIB and other associations should all take on responsibility concerning this project,” Celep concluded…
