Press release…
Hilmi Sürek, Chairman of the Tariş Olive and Olive Oil Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union, said that they have determined the price level that aims to satisfy the producer by making the best use of all the possibilities of the Union.
Stating that they have set a price of 26 TL for extra virgin oils in the purchase campaign of the 2020-2021 period, Sürek said, “Our Union has once again demonstrated that it stands by its producer stakeholders in this purchase campaign.”
Indicating that their aim is to protect the value of the product and not to victimize their producers, Sürek explained:
“We started purchasing products at the price level that we think will satisfy our producers, taking into account the price evaluations from our cooperative regions, the yield and price levels of the domestic and foreign markets. We will act according to market developments in the next period.”
“Last year, we ran a successful purchase campaign. We have completed the 2019-2020 campaign period, shoulder to shoulder with our producer stakeholders, in terms of both purchases and sales. This year, taking into account the regional, national and world production along with price formations, we started purchasing by giving a price of 26 TL to extra virgin olive oil as a result of meticulous evaluations,” Sürek added.
Underlining that the Tariş Olive and Olive Oil Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union has a strong structure in the region with all its cooperatives and 28 thousand stakeholders, Hilmi Sürek emphasized the most important strength is the quality of stakeholders and their products.
