TURKISH FOOD EXPORTERS SET AN EXPORT TARGET OF 1 BILLION DOLLARS TO CHINA…

Turkish food exporters participated in China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2020, which was held for the 3rd time this year in the People’s Republic of China, one of their biggest target markets, where they exported 226 million dollars with a 63 percent increase in exports in 2019 and thus invested in the post pandemic era.

Turkish food exporters aim to exceed 1 billion dollars in exports of food products to China at the end of the next 5 years.

Sharing the information that China International Import Expo was organized between 5-10 November 2020, Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EİB)Coordinator Jak Eskinazi said, “Total of 15 companies of which 8 national and 7 individual participated in the fair and Turkey National Participation Organization was undertaken by EİB.”

Reminding that they declared 2019 as the ‘Year of China’, Eskinazi noted, “China is one of the two countries that Turkey has the highest foreign trade deficit. Since it is not a far country to receive Chinese goods, not a distant country for export. We have been striving to catch a balance in foreign trade between two countries.”

“China had an export volume of 2.4 trillion dollars in 2019, while it imported 2.1 trillion dollars. Therefore China International Import Fair has a very important place in shaping China’s imports from the world. We have invested in the coming years to do so,” Eskinazi added…
