Turkey Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Associations Sectoral Board Chairman Osman Öz said that TMO (Turkish Grain Board) bought grapes from the commodity exchanges last season and but their expectation is that TMO should purchase grapes directly from producers by making pesticide analysis.
Sharing the information that raisins are handed out in schools in England, Osman Öz added,”Raisins can be distributed in schools too in Turkey every year. Thus, both the pressure that high yields put on prices during over supply periods could be eliminated and domestic consumption would have increased in Turkey.”
