Ferrero Hazelnuts’ Ferrero Valuable Farming (FFV) Programme, which aims to promote good agricultural and social practices in hazelnut production, received the award in the category of “Sustainable agriculture, reduction of food loss and waste and sectoral circular economy approaches”.

Ferrero Hazelnuts’ Ferrero Valuable Agriculture (FFV) Programme, which has been running in Türkiye since 2012, received the award as part of the COP31 Sustainable Transformation Awards organised by the Business and Sustainable Development Association (SKD Türkiye). In this award programme, designed to highlight measurable, implemented and scalable initiatives carried out by the Turkish business community in the fields of climate, nature and social development, Ferrero Valuable Agriculture came third in the category “Sustainable agriculture, reduction of food loss and waste, and sectoral circular economy approaches”.

As part of the COP31 Sustainable Transformation Awards, 189 best practices submitted by 102 organisations from 12 different sectors—all members of SKD Türkiye, were assessed by 17 independent jury members. The entries were assessed based on criteria including impact and scalability, alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, feasibility and organisational ownership, transparency, measurement and stakeholder participation.

Bamsı Akın, General Manager of Ferrero Hazelnuts, commented on the award, stating: “We run the Ferrero Valuable Agriculture Programme in Türkiye to support the environmental and social sustainability of hazelnut production. Through the training and on-site consultancy we provide to producers throughout the year, we offer knowledge and practical support in areas such as water management, correct fertiliser use, regenerative agriculture, soil health, the conservation of biodiversity and integrated pest and disease management.”

“We are proud to have been recognised with an award at the COP31 Sustainable Transformation Awards during this period when Türkiye is hosting COP31,” he added…
