Fresh fig exports soared by 18 percent in 2024…
Hayrettin Uçak, Chair of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, announced that Türkiye earned 68 million 290 thousand dollars in foreign exchange from 19 thousand 217 tonnes of fresh fig exports in 2023. He noted that in 2024, fresh fig exports soared by 20 percent in terms of volume to 23,060 tonnes and foreign exchange earnings rose by 18 percent from 68.2 million dollars to 80.5 million dollars.
Emphasising that there will be a slight decrease in the fresh fig harvest in 2025, Uçak said, “Despite the decrease in the harvest, the quality and calibre will be better. A suitable harvest awaits us in terms of exports. We aim to export 100 million dollars worth of fresh figs in 2025.”
