After being raised in open cages, the fish are transported to the coastal facility, where they are cleaned by women and packaged under appropriate storage conditions.

Approximately 10 percent of the fish are sold domestically, while 90 percent are exported to Spain, Italy and Portugal.

Target: 12,000 tonnes of production!

Mustafa Bozkuş, the facility manager, stated that the facility, which began operations in 2019, currently produces 8,000 tonnes of fish annually.

Explaining that the blue waters of the Mediterranean offer excellent opportunities for cage fishing, Bozkuş noted that sea bream and sea bass are in high demand abroad.

Stating that they export most of their products, Bozkuş said, “We started production with 500 tonnes, and now our target is 12,000 tonnes. We plan to continue increasing our production; 90 percent of the fish produced in Arsuz are exported to Italy, Spain and Portugal. The fish we raise in the Arsuz region are particularly preferred.”
