Saffet Kalyoncu, Chair of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB), stated that exports from Trabzon, Rize, Artvin and Gümüşhane provinces amounted to 262 million 93 thousand 166 dollars in the January-February period of 2024.
“Compared to the same period of the previous year in exports from the provinces of our region; while exports from Artvin increased by 37 percent with a record hike, exports from Gümüşhane increased by 14 percent, exports from Rize increased by 4 percent and exports from Trabzon did not change compared to the same period last year,” he said.
Sharing the information that in January and February 2024, the sectors with the highest exports from Trabzon, Rize, Artvin and Gümüşhane provinces of the Eastern Black Sea Region, he explained,”
- Hazelnut, 127 million 137 thousand 917 dollars,
- Fishery products, 37 Million 179 thousand 886 dollars,
- Fresh fruit and vegetables, 36 million 263 thousand 921 dollars.”
“Exports were made to 103 different countries in January and February 2024 from our Eastern Black Sea Region and the top 5 countries with the highest exports were Italy, Russian Federation, Georgia, Germany and Poland respectively,” he added…
