PRICE OF WORDLWIDE KNOWN ANZER HONEY DECLARED AS 1200 TL FOR ONE KG…

The selling price of the world-famous Anzer honey, which is produced in the Anzer Plateau at an altitude of 2,300 metre in Rize’s İkizdere district, was determined as 1200 TL this year.

This year, 200 producers produced honey in 3,000 hives in Anzer Plateau in Ballıköy village of Rize province.

In the highland, bees produced 2 tonnes and 400 kilos of honey by collecting nectar from the rich highland flora, consisting of nearly 300 flowers, 40 of which are endemic, throughout the summer. The honeys was sent to Hacettepe University in Ankara for analysis.

The honey returned from the analysis will start to be sold in order to meet the demands of priority patients. For Anzer honey, 1 tonne of orders have been received so far.

“RIGHT NOW WE HAVE 1 TONNE OF PRE-ORDER”

Osman Civelek, Chairperson of Anzer Ballıköy Agricultural Development Cooperative, stated that they had a good honey production season this year and said, “Approximately 200 of our families are engaged in beekeeping. Our cooperative received 2 thousand 400 kilogrammes of honey. We have received and will send them to Hacettepe University for analysis. We will also sell our products that are approved by returning from the analysis. We start selling at the end of September. We currently have 1 tonne of pre-order. We will evaluate and deliver them to our citizens who first place an order. We will keep the sick in the priority category and deliver their honey to them.”

“20 PERCENT PRICE HIKE IN ONE KILOGRAM”

Reminding that they have not made an increase in Anzer honey for two years, Civelek explained, “This year, we are offering a 20 percent hike in kg for 1200 TL. Half a kilogramme of honey is 600 lira, 250 grams of honey is 300 TL. This year, Anzer honey has received geographical indication. From now on, any product not produced in Anzer will not be sold as Anzer honey. This will be followed up by the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and the Governorship of Rize. Our consumers should also pay attention to the geographical indication banderol on Anzer honey.”
