Turkish food exporters, who increased their exports to the USA from 1 billion dollars to 2 billion dollars in the last 5 years, took a big step to reach the target of 5 billion dollars.

“We introduced our healthy and organic products”

Stating that healthy, natural and organic products were showcased at Natural Products Expo West, Mehmet Ali Işık, Sustainability and Organic Products Coordinator of EIB and Head of the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, said that it was a very productive exhibition for Turkish companies, that they left the fair extremely satisfied by establishing commercial contacts and that they plan to participate in bigger stands next year.

Pointing out that as Aegean Exporters’ Associations, they held negotiations with the fair administration for national participation in a larger area for next year, Işık said, “Expo West emphasised its role as the epicentre of global health and healthy living trends. As EIB, we aim to ramp up our exports of agricultural products from 7.3 billion dollars to 10 billion dollars. The USA is the largest target market of Turkish food exporters with an annual import of 230 billion dollars of food products. We have undertaken Türkiye’s National Participation Organisation for the Natural Products Expo West Fair for the second time this year. We have been successfully organising Türkiye’s National Participation Organisation for the New York Fancy Food Fair, the largest food fair in the USA, for nearly 25 years.”

“We have also been successfully continuing our TURQUALITY Project named Turkish Tastes for 5 years to raise the awareness of Turkish food products in the US market. With the new rings we will add to these organisations, we aim to export 5 billion dollars worth of food products from Türkiye to the US market in the medium term and we are taking firm steps towards this goal,” Işık added…
