It is reported that expropriation works for the organised agriculture zone planned to be established within Hacı Ömer Sabancı Organised Industrial Zone in Türkiye’s Eastern Mediterranean province of Adana for organic agriculture are continuing.
Adana Chamber of Industry (ADASO) President Ümit Özgümüş said in a statement that Türkiye’s first organised agricultural zone will be established on an area of 4 thousand 785 decares within the Hacı Ömer Sabancı Organised Industrial Zone and that expropriation works have been continuing for 2 years.
Özgümüş stated that tomato, cucumber, seedling production, flower production and vegetable production based on soilless agriculture will be carried out in the organised agricultural zone.
“In the organised agricultural zone, warehousing will be carried out here as well as greenhouse cultivation. There will be 4 cold storage warehouses, Common Marketing Centre, R&D Centre, Social Facilities Centres. Farmers will have the opportunity to turn the tomatoes they produce into tomato paste here. This will contribute to the establishment of new factories and the development of the food industry,” he added.
Özgümüş also noted that it will be possible to employ 10 thousand people when the organised agricultural zone becomes operational.
