World Bank ramps up support from 30 million dollars to 65 million dollars…
The Dikili Geothermal Heated Greenhouse Organised Agricultural Zone, one of the largest technological greenhouse hubs in Türkiye and Europe, has been boosted from 30 million dollars to 65 million dollars in support from the World Bank, given the project’s potential. Mahmut Özgener, Chairman of the Izmir Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the historic significance of such support for Izmir and stated that the city will usher in a brand new era in agriculture.

Mahmut Özgener, Chairman of the Izmir Chamber of Commerce, also noted that the Dikili Geothermal Heated Greenhouse Organised Agricultural Zone is the only Organized Agricultural Zone in the country supported by World Bank financing.
“The initial 30 million dollar financing provided by the World Bank has been increased to 65 million dollars, considering the project’s size and potential. This support is a significant indicator of the confidence placed in the project. We are delighted that such an investment is being made in our province,” he said.
Çakan: Infrastructure work is on the way
Mehmet Şahin Çakan, a member of the Izmir Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Dikili Geothermal Heated Greenhouse (OTB), announced that the project’s infrastructure work will be completed with the tender for the “Dikili OTB Infrastructure Construction Works (Wastewater, Rainwater, Potable Water, Electricity and Telecommunications, Interception Channel, Engineering Structures) and Geothermal Networks and Heating Systems Construction,” published today (Friday, July 25).”

“This will lay the groundwork for OTB participants to begin production. We are rapidly progressing our work and our goal is to complete the project as soon as possible and harvest our first crops,” Çakan added.
