Hüseyin Arslan, Chairman of the Board of the Mediterranean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association (AHBİB), announced that they achieved an export of 518.5 million dollars in the first quarter of 2022, an increase of 47 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
Arslan said, “The locomotive product of our regional exports between January and March 2022 was red lentils with a 24 percent share.”
“We exported pulses, pastry products and vegetable oil the most”
Noting that AHBİB, which evaluated 569 thousand 758 tonnes of products in the international markets in the first quarter of the year, supported the sector’s exports of 2.8 billion dollars in Turkey at the rate of 18 percent, Arslan explained, “Our Association exported the most pulses, pastry products and vegetable oils between January and March. Pulses ranked first with a rise of 133 percent and a value of 174.8 million dollars, pastry products ranked second with a rise of 10 percent and a value of 86.5 million dollars and vegetable oils ranked third with a rise of 93 percent and a value of 63.7 million dollars.”
“Red lentils, which reached a value of 125 million dollars with an increase of 178 percent in the said period, shouldered the exports of the region,” Arslan added…
