Aegean Dried Fruit and Dried Fruit Exporters’ Association (EKMMİB) continues to make global contributions in the fields of sustainability, scientific cooperation and market access by successfully representing Türkiye at the INC Congress, one of the most important meetings of the world’s dried fruit and dried fruit sector.

The 42nd International Dried and Dried Fruit Congress of the International Nut and Dried Fruit Council-INC, the highest consultative platform for dried fruit and dried fruit worldwide, will be held in Palma de Mallorca, Spain on May 8-10, 2025.

This year’s program of the INC Congress, the global meeting point of the dried fruit and dried fruit sector, covers many important topics that shape the sector. The congress, which is shaped around the theme of sustainability and innovation, will feature special roundtable meetings for product groups such as almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, figs, dates, and apricots, while new global initiatives such as the “INC Sustainability Program” will be introduced. In addition, important players in the sector will discuss critical topics such as “Contracts and Results,” “Nutrition Research,” and “Market Access.” The future of the sector will be discussed during three days full of scientific sessions, inspiring speeches, and networking events.
International Dried and Nuts Council (INC) Türkiye Ambassador Ahmet Bilge Göksan announced that during the meetings they will attend and the interviews they will hold along the congress, they will provide information about their work on national and international platforms to enhance food safety and product quality and share their ongoing promotional activities in India and the USA.
“We are increasing the reliability and competitiveness of Turkish dried fruits in global markets, especially with our work to reduce pesticide residues in raisins, our intensive activities to prevent mycotoxin contamination in dried figs and the support we provide to food safety and quality-focused projects in dried apricots,” Göksan said.

Pointing out The International Nuts and Dried Fruits Council (INC), the umbrella organization of the nuts and dried fruit sector, continues its work towards sustainable growth and supporting healthy living without slowing down, Göksan noted, “As the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association (EKMMİB), we closely follow these studies carried out under the roof of INC and continue to contribute in order to represent our sector more strongly on international platforms; 111 people from Türkiye will attend this year’s conference and representatives of our member companies will provide detailed information about our sector in the dried apricot, dried fig and dried grape sessions.”

Explaining that on the other hand, the NUTPOOL Research launched by INC in 2024 aims to reveal the effects of nut consumption on health on a scientific basis, while the leading experts of the sector will come together at the NUTS 2025 Scientific Meeting to be held in 2025, Göksan added, “In addition, multi-country information campaigns carried out in China, India and Latin America reach millions of young consumers and create awareness in the sector. Sustainability is at the centre of all these studies. The INC Sustainability Institute, which will be operational in 2025, will guide the development of the sector in line with environmental and social responsibility principles.”
“As EKMMİB, we continue our collaborations on all national and international platforms to ensure that the Turkish dried fruit sector takes an active role in this global transformation and to boost sustainable, value-added exports,” Göksan concluded…
