Hazelnut prices in the Alaplı district of Zonguldak province have surpassed 255 TL on the open market and are expected to reach 300 TL soon. Şeref Türkoğlu, Head of the Alaplı Chamber of Agriculture, stated that decreasing supply and stagnant demand are affecting prices.
Hazelnut prices, one of the Black Sea Region’s most important agricultural products, are rising rapidly. In Zonguldak’s Alaplı district, hazelnut prices, which have reached 255 TL on the open market, are reportedly likely to reach 300 TL in a short time.
Şeref Türkoğlu, Head of the Alaplı Chamber of Agriculture, stated that this year’s hazelnut price increase to 10 TL in US dollars should not surprise anyone. Türkoğlu said, “Prices, which started at 200 TL at the beginning of the season, are continuing to rise due to decreasing supply and stable demand. Prices are now reaching 400 TL in US dollars.”
