Products produced in Türkiye’s Northwestern province of Kırklareli, one of Türkiye’s major milk production centres, are exported to 17 countries.

The region, home to modern dairy farms, produces an average of 1,000 tonnes of milk daily with 150,000 head of cattle.
Milk produced in 34 European Union-approved farms is processed into cheese, aged and fresh kashar cheese and ice cream in processing facilities.
Products are exported primarily to the United States, as well as the United Kingdom, China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Mongolia, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Georgia and Congo.
Last year, 13,596 tonnes and 857 kilograms of dairy products were exported from Kırklareli, generating 1,060,255,075 lira in revenue. Between January and June of this year, 7,120 tonnes and 758 kilograms of dairy products contributed 698,026,000 lira to the national economy.

Gökhan Karaca, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, told an Anadolu Agency (AA) reporter that Kırklareli is home to some of Türkiye’s most modern dairy farms.
Karaca stated that the province has approximately 150,000 head of cattle and one-third of these are in disease-free farms.
Karaca highlighted that 1,000 tonnes of milk are produced daily and that milk produced in 34 European Union-approved farms is processed in modern facilities.
“We expect dairy exports, in particular, to double in five years.”
Pointing out that the milk produced goes to very powerful milk processing facilities in the province, where it is processed into dairy products and reaches important markets both domestically and for export, he noted, “Products produced at this milk processing facility in our region are exported to Europe, Arab countries, Asian countries and even the United States.”
