Press release…

With the Development of International Competitiveness Project and TURQUALITY Project, they will reach 500 million dollars of exports in the Asia Pacific market!

Stating that they export 10 percent of Türkiye’s fruit and vegetable production, which reaches 60 million tonnes annually, as fresh fruit and vegetables and that they provide 3.5 billion dollars in foreign currency annually, Hayrettin Uçak, Chair of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Assocation (EYMSİB), said that they evaluate the 60 million tonnes of harvest by freezing, drying and canning in order to make it more value-added.

“We have the world’s most modern production facilities that process pickles, tomato paste, fruit juice, roasted vegetables, frozen vegetables and fruits. We participate in fairs to increase our strength in America, England, EU countries, Far East and Middle East countries. We have started our fourth Development of International Competitiveness Project named Turkish Fresh and Processed Fruits and Vegetables Cluster with the participation of 41 companies in the Development of International Competitiveness Projects supported by our Ministry of Trade, where our exporter companies cluster, enhance their competencies and make marketing. Today, we aim to reach an export volume of 500 million dollars in the Asia Pacific market, where we export 200 million dollars annually,” Uçak said.

China will be the target market in TURQUALITY Project…

Pointing out that they will start ‘The Symphony of The Taste From Anatolia Turquality Project’ in 2024, which is coordinated by the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters‘ Association and in which Uludağ Fruit and Vegetable Products Exporters’ Association and Istanbul Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association are stakeholders, Uçak explained, “The project, which has been submitted to the approval of our Ministry of Trade, will start after the approval process. In the fruit and vegetable products sector, we want to show the whole world that Turkish food products have the potential to offer a unique taste in global kitchens with this project.”

“With the project, it will be explained in the UK and China that the recipes and ingredients of global flavours allow the use of Turkish fruit and vegetable products. At a time when the trend of healthy eating is increasing worldwide, we will emphasise that especially Mediterranean-style nutrition is fed by the rich culture of Anatolia. The main objective of the project will be to strengthen the brand value of Turkish fruit and vegetable products and to ensure that Turkish food products reach a wider audience in the UK and PRC markets. In this context, we aim to increase brand strength through collaborations with food industry professionals and umbrella organisations of the sector. On the other hand, we aim to increase exports by ensuring that Turkish products stand out not only with their competitive price advantage but also with their superior quality,” Uçak added…
