SELAMİ İLERİ: AGRI-MACHINERY EXPORTS INCREASED BY 35 PERCENT IN JANUARY-JULY PERIOD

Selami İleri, Secretary General of the Turkish Association of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers (TARMAKBİR), in his written statement, gave the information that the foreign trade data for the machinery sector for the period of July 2021 was announced.

Selami İleri said, “Accordingly, our exports in the January-July period of 2021 in the agricultural machinery sector increased by 35 percent compared to the level of 2020 and reached the level of 761 million dollars. With these data, our sector ranked 5th among 22 sectors in the general machinery export sectors list.”

“In the foreign trade balance, the ratio of exports to imports in the January-June period of 2021 was 157.6 percent and in this period, agricultural machinery imports increased by 125 percent compared to the previous year and reached 459 million dollars,” he added.

“Again in this period, total exports in the machinery sector amounted to 11.9 billion dollars, while the change compared to the previous year was 31.7 percent. The overall export value per kilogram is at the level of 5.8 dollars. For agricultural machinery, the unit value per kg is 4.6 dollars. The ranking of countries in our exports was the USA, Uzbekistan, Italy, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Russia, Sudan, France, Serbia and Romania,” he concluded…
