FOOD AND AGRICULTURE EXPORTS OF TURKIYE REACHES TO 6.4 BILLION DOLLARS IN MARCH…

According to the Federation of Food and Drink Industry Associations of Turkiye (TGDF) Digital Data Panel prepared by Agrimetre, based on the Foreign Trade Data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, in the first 3 months of 2022, the agriculture, food and beverage industry realized exports of 6.4 billion dollars and imports of 4.7 billion dollars.

In the first three months of 2022, the sector’s foreign trade surplus increased by 101.5% compared to the same month of the previous year.

According to the foreign trade data published within the framework of the Special Trade System (ÖTS), in the first three months of 2022, exports increased by 26.2% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 6.35 billion dollars, while imports increased by 11.8% and reached 4.72 billion dollars. The fact that exports spent the first quarter of 2022 with an rise of 26% compared to the previous year was considered positive for the sector, while the slowdown in the rate of rise in imports drew attention.

In March 2022, while the monthly export value soared by 22.6% compared to the same month of the previous year, it was realized as 2.24 billion dollars, while imports decreased by 4.6% to 1.55 billion dollars.
