İbrahim Yumaklı: New strategies for the future to be determined during the Agriculture and Forestry Council

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı disclosed that they are planning to organise the Agriculture and Forestry Council in April 2025.

Emphasizing once again the importance Türkiye attaches to water and irrigation investments, Yumaklı stated that water and irrigation play a critical role in terms of food supply security and in this context, more than 2.4 trillion TL resources have been used for more than 10 thousand facilities in the last 22 years.

AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY COUNCIL: POLICIES FOR THE FUTURE

Minister Yumaklı highlighted that all stakeholders in the sector should work in a common consensus to unlock Türkiye’s agriculture and forestry potential. To this end, he announced for the first time that the Agriculture and Forestry Council will be organised in 2025 to provide a strong reference source for future policies.

This 4th Agriculture and Forestry Council is expected to be an important milestone for the country’s agriculture and forestry sectors, following the previous Agriculture Councils held in 1997, 2004 and 2019. The minister noted that this Council will enable the development of new strategies through comprehensive discussions on the challenges and opportunities that the sector will face in the future.

COUNCIL TO DRAW THE ROAD MAP FOR THE NEXT 10 YEARS…

Minister Yumaklı explained that the main purpose of the Agriculture and Forestry Council is to evaluate the problems, opportunities and needs in the field of agriculture and forestry. Within the scope of the event, the challenges awaiting the sector in the next 10 years will be focussed on and new strategies will be developed in this direction. “A common vision will be created with the participation of all stakeholders in the sector,” Yumaklı said.

“As a result, the Agriculture and Forestry Council to be held in 2025 will guide Türkiye’s strategic planning in agriculture and forestry and offer solutions to future challenges. All stakeholders in the sector will contribute to the formation of new policies for the sustainability and efficiency of agriculture and forestry,” Yumaklı added…
