“TGİ will introduce bulgur as a Turkish product to the world”
“Turkish bulgur will be recognised by the world,” said Ahmet Tiryakioğlu, Chairman of Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM) Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Sector Board.
Giving information about the Bulgur Promotion Project of Turkish Food Exporters, which entered into force with the approval of the Ministry of Trade, Tiryakioğlu said, “We are preparing to introduce bulgur, which reflects the deep-rooted and rich culinary culture of Anatolia, to the world within the scope of our Turquality project, which we have implemented together with Southeastern Anatolia Exporters’ Associations (GAIB) and Black Sea Exporters’ Associations (KIB) under the coordination of Mediterranean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association (AHBİB).”
Pointing out that in the first stage of the project, they shot promotional films in Mersin and Mardin provinces with a team from Russia, Tiryakioğlu noted, “Within the scope of the activities that will continue throughout the year, we have launched our website and social media accounts in Russian under the name TurkishBulgur. We are working to declare World Bulgur Day on behalf of this product, which we believe will have an important place in the nutritional culture of the future with its nutritional values.”
