In the January-April period, 47 million 838 thousand 975 dollars worth of fishery products were exported from the Eastern Black Sea region.

İsmail Kobya, Chairman of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Associations Fisheries Sector Committee, announced that 6 thousand 681 tonnes of fishery products were exported from the region in 4 months of the year.
Stating that 47 million 838 thousand 975 dollars was earned from the exports in question, Kobya said that fishery exports were made to 21 countries in this period from the region.
Kobya pointed out that the Russian Federation took the lead in the export of fishery products from the Eastern Black Sea region in the January-April period and said, “25 million 807 thousand 448 dollars of exports were made to the Russian Federation in this period. The Russian Federation was followed by Japan with 6 million 422 thousand 175 dollars and the USA with 6 million 381 thousand 527 dollars. The region also sold fishery products to the Netherlands, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Greece and Indonesia this period.”

Emphasising that 80 percent of the region’s exports were carried out from Trabzon, Kobya noted, “5 thousand 205 tonnes of aquaculture products were exported from the province to 18 countries during the period in question.”
Indicating that 38 million 315 thousand 746 dollars were earned from these exports, Kobya added, “The Russian Federation, the USA and Japan were the 3 countries with the highest exports of fishery products from Trabzon.”
Underlining that fishery products are one of the important export items of the region and Trabzon province, Kobya concluded, “Our expectations from the export of fishery products are high every period.”
