The UR-GE (Product Development) project titled “Increasing the Export Capacity of Turkish Tea and Ensuring its Sustainability”, prepared by the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB) with the cooperation and support of Rize Commodity Exchange, was included in the scope of support by the Ministry of Trade.
Within the scope of the project, which includes approximately 20 beneficiary companies operating in the field of tea production in Rize and Trabzon provinces, 75 percent of the expenses of the participating companies regarding the project activities will be within the scope of the support.
Commenting on the subject, Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association Vice Chairman Ahmet Hamdi Gürdoğan said, “We started this project in order to increase the export of tea, which is the green gold of our region and to bring Turkish tea to a recognized point all over the world.”
Gürdoğan also stated that their aim is to ensure that Turkish tea’s distinctive taste, naturalness, different aroma, natural features and many other advantages are available in the world markets under the umbrella of a Turkish brand.
