Derya Yanık, Minister of Family and Social Services, stated that they have been carrying out various activities since 2012 in order to raise awareness within the scope of women’s cooperatives and to encourage cooperatives for women.
Yanık said, “We reached 39 thousand people in total with 810 workshops, training and information meetings. We also mediated the establishment of 510 new women’s cooperatives. We aim to further increase women’s entrepreneurship and employment with the new studies and activities we will carry out. Cooperatives will provide a serious breakthrough in the field of women’s employment.”
Noting that cooperatives have a great impact on increasing employment and growing economies all over the world, Minister Yanık explained, “Cooperatives, which are an effective employment mechanism throughout the world, are becoming increasingly widespread in Turkiye as well. Women find significant opportunities to start their own business through cooperative activities.”
