CONTROLLED FOOD PRODUCTION FROM FIELD TO FORK!

In a webinar organized by the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EİB), Birol Celep, Chairman of the Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters’ Association, Cengiz Balık, Vice Chairman of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, Serpil Ürek, Group Manager of Migros Ticaret A.Ş. Product Safety and Environmental Management and Mesut Öztürk, Quality Manager of Migros Ticaret A.Ş. Good Agricultural Practices, talked about food safety and sustainability criteria in the retail sector, good agricultural practices and what should be done for sustainability in agriculture.

Birol Celep, Chairman of the Board of Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, said, “As the Aegean Exporters’ Association, which has been operating in Izmir for 81 years in order to make exports with a less carbon footprint, we believe that we should be a pioneer to show the whole world that the Aegean Region is a sustainable production center.”

“As the Aegean Exporters’ Associations , which have 7 agricultural associations, we aimed to export with less carbon footprint while the conditions had not changed yet and 2020 was declared as the ‘Year of Sustainability’ in our in-house strategy development works,” Birol Celep added…
