Super foods with high nutritional value, of which Turkey is the world leader in production and export; seedless raisins, dried apricots and dried figs are approaching 1 billion dollars towards the end of the season.
Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters’ Association Chairperson Birol Celep said that the export of seedless raisins, which started the 2020/21 season on September 1, 2020, reached 93 countries in 8 months and totaled 332 million dollars.

Celep said, “While entering the last quarter in the 9-month period between August 1, 2020 and May 29, 2021 in dried apricots, a total of 258 million dollars of foreign currency income was obtained with an acceleration of 13.7 percent in return for a total of 78 thousand tonnes of dried apricots.”
Stating that Turkey exported a total of 57 thousand 143 tonnes of dried figs in the period from September 30, 2020 to May 29, 2021, bringing its exports to a total of 207 million dollars with an increase of 2 percent, Celep noted, “All dried apricots, which were exported for 2 thousand 779 dollars in the 2019/20 season, found buyers for 3 thousand 470 dollars in 114 countries in the 2020/21 period.”
“The average export price of all dried figs sent to 104 countries in the 2020/21 season increased from 4 thousand 52 dollars to 4 thousand 261 dollars,” Celep added…
