Barış Saylak: Muğla breaks aquaculture export record

In 2024, Türkiye’s Southwestern province of Muğla, the country’s aquaculture leader, produced a total of 166 thousand 377 tonnes in 348 facilities.

95 thousand tonnes of this production was exported, generating an income of 625.6 million dollars. Muğla continues to be the pride of the country in aquaculture exports.

The most demanded products in Muğla’s aquaculture exports:

Sea bass 45,505 tonnes
Bream: 40,989 tonnes
Trout: 4,443 tonnes

Other fish species such as garnet, coral and caviar are also among the export products.

EXPORT TO ALL OVER THE WORLD…

Aquaculture products produced in Muğla region are exported to more than 50 countries. Among the exporting countries:

Barış Saylak

European countries: Germany, France, Italy
Far East: Japan, China, Thailand,
USA,
Gulf countries: Qatar, Kuwait, Oman
In addition, a total of 16,635,000 live fry were exported to countries such as Albania, Tunisia and Oman.

AQUACULTURE IS A SOURCE OF PRIDE FOR MUĞLA…

Muğla Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Barış Saylak expressed the region’s success in this field with the following words; “As of 2024, the 625.6 million dollars revenue we obtained in aquaculture exports once again reveals the success of our province in this field. Our products such as sea bass and sea bream reach the tables in many countries of the world.”

“We are also at an important point in the export of live fry. Thanks to the meticulous inspections of our teams and the production of our enterprises under hygienic conditions, we produce at international standards,” Saylak added…
