“Quality” harvest in Akhisar…

Quality will stamp on olive harvest this year in Akhisar (a district of Manisa province) which is the leader in table olive production across.

Akhisar Commodity Exchange Chairman Alper Alhat said that the best quality olives in the last 10 years are on the way.

The heart of the olive and olive oil industry will beat in Akhisar. 

Akhisar Olive Harvest Festival, which will be held for the 11th time this year on October 18-19, will host many events. Producers will be showing their respect to the immortal tree with a ‘gratitude walk’.

During the festival, the visitors will be full of entertainment, as well as food all the day. The festival will feature colourful images with culinary arts workshops, culinary shows with famous chefs, mini concerts and dance performances. Domat and Uslu brands olive competition between farmers will blow the storm of excitement. On the other hand the future of the sector will be discussed in a panel.

Top quality in the last 10 years…

Akhisar Commodity Exchange Chairman Alper Alhat stated that top quality olives have been produced despite the fall of yield due to climate conditions. Alhat said: “This year we expect better products in terms of both olive and oil quality. Despite the adverse weather conditions around the world, our producer looked at his tree so well that perhaps the best quality olives of the last 10 years are coming. Akhisar has a model in olive production process for the world. We care the quality of our olive trees from planting to harvesting as much as we can. That’s why we have overcome all difficulties and this year’s table olives will be much better quality and delicious.”
