Jalapeños from Gördes and Bayındır. Cucumber from Burdur, Akhisar, Afyon Sandıklı regions…
Fersan, which produces 22 million litres of vinegar per year and has planting areas in 5 different regions, has started the harvest period in Cucumber and Jalapeño production with 3 million tonnes of seeds.
In Fersan’s product range; it has vinegar, pickles, turnips, jalapeños, lemon sauces, pomegranate syrup, sour sauce, cleaning vinegar and vinegar drinks.
Fersan Chairman and CEO Gürhan Güven and Ege University Retired Lecturer Professor Dr. Mustafa Nafiz Delen stated that they started the harvest period and that they carefully followed the raw materials with their own agricultural teams and said, “We follow up from the seedling to the harvest, from the production to the final product. We buy our jalapeño peppers from Gördes and Bayındır and our cucumbers from Burdur, Gördes, Akhisar and Afyon Sandıklı.”
Emphasizing that there are planting areas in 5 different regions in Manisa Gördes, Akhisar, Burdur Gölhisar, Afyon Sandıklı and İzmir Bayındır, Güven explained, “We have been carrying out all our agricultural applications for more than 30 years under the control of Dr. Nafiz Delen and our 4-person agricultural team. For our cucumber and jalapeño productions, we plant on an area of approximately one thousand decares. We work with over 100 producers and use 3 million tonnes of seeds. We press the incoming products into our tanks on the same day.”
Pointing out that the harvest period lasted about 130 days, Dr. Nafiz Delen added, “We have the ‘Good Agricultural Practices Global GAP’ certificate and we renew our certificate every year, as we do not harm the natural balance in the production processes, our products are not harmful at the physical and chemical level and we act in accordance with the legal requirements while our harvest is regularly checked with pesticides.”
