Hasan Kuzuoğlu: Demand for Turkish salmon from abroad has increased year by year

October, 2026…

Hasan Kuzuoğlu, Head of the Fisheries Sector Committee at the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB), told an Anadolu Agency (AA) correspondent that Turkish salmon exports had risen significantly in both volume and value over the nine-month period compared to the same time last year.

Expressing satisfaction with the sector’s export performance, Kuzuoğlu noted that foreign demand for Turkish salmon has been growing steadily year after year.

Kuzuoğlu emphasized that efforts are underway to boost exports in existing markets—particularly Russia, Belarus, and Vietnam—and stated that expanding the reach of Turkish salmon to more countries and increasing market diversity are among the sector’s top priorities.

Highlighting the importance of promotional and commercial activities aimed at new markets, Kuzuoğlu stressed that initiatives to raise awareness of Turkish salmon, especially in the Far East and other alternative markets, are ongoing.

Noting that they expect year-end export figures to be positive, Kuzuoğlu said, “Turkish salmon has now established itself as a proven product in international markets. Moving forward, we aim to both enhance our share in existing markets and diversify our exports by reaching new countries.”
