The Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association organized Türkiye’s national participation in Asia Fruit Logistica 2026 for the 11th time, aiming to strengthen the Turkish fresh fruit and vegetable sector’s presence in Asia-Pacific markets. Held in Hong Kong, the fair paved the way for developing new trade connections in Asian markets, where demand for premium products among high-income consumers is strong.

Asia Fruit Logistica 2026 brought together approximately 16,000 professional visitors from 95 countries and regions and over 760 exhibiting companies from 41 countries. The fair served as a key meeting point for closely monitoring new trends in global fresh fruit and vegetable trade, as well as shifts in consumer expectations, product innovation, logistics, and supply chain dynamics.
“Hong Kong is a vital trade hub opening up to Asian markets”
Evaluating the event, Bülent Ulus Sarıkaya, Chairman of the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association, emphasized that the organization serves as a strategic platform for tracking global changes within the sector.
Indicating that the country’s 11th national participation reflects a long-term, consistent strategy, Sarıkaya said, “We aim to elevate Turkish products to a stronger brand position centred on quality, reliability and sustainability.
Highlighting that Hong Kong serves as a critical trade hub providing access to the region—particularly mainland China—Sarıkaya noted, “The region imports fresh fruits and vegetables valued at approximately 3.5 billion dollars annually. Strong demand, especially for cherries, blueberries, apples and other premium fruits, presents significant opportunities for Türkiye. Data from Asian markets indicate that, in the coming period, generating higher added value—rather than simply selling a higher volume of products—will be the decisive factor for exports. Turkey boasts a robust portfolio ranging from cherries to pomegranates, grapes to figs and citrus to stone fruits.”
“By aligning this wealth of produce with the expectations of high-income consumers in Asia, we can establish a new axis of growth,” he added…
