Türkiye Earned 60,989,000 Dollars from Dried Tomato Exports in the First Half of the Year…
Türkiye earned 60,989,000 dollars from the export of 18,301 tonnes of dried tomatoes to 91 countries in the January-June period of 2026.
The highest export volume during this period was to the USA with 16,053,000 dollars, followed by Italy with 8,864,000 dollars and the UK with 5,344,000 dollars.
Abdulvahap Olgun, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Torbalı Chamber of Commerce, stated that the district is a leader in dried tomato production and that there was an abundance of the product this year.
Pointing out that dried tomatoes provide significant income, Olgun noted, “The dried tomatoes we export are used in pizzas, sauces and pasta in Italy. Italy’s pasta is famous. The pasta contains dried tomatoes from Türkiye.”
“Recently, consumption of dried tomatoes has increased in the United States and Brazil. They are also used in hamburgers there. In the first half of the year, our exports reached around 60 million dollars. We have a target of 100 million dollars in exports by the end of the year,” Olgun added…
